hypocritical

Violence is scary, and honestly people are savages by nature. Our world trains people to be violent in ways that we don't even notice. Little boys get so excited over getting a fake gun or even B.B. gun when they are older. Why are we promoting violence at such a young age? Video games are full of shooting people in order to advance to the next level or win the game. Some of the biggest "heroes" in our nation achieved this prestige by killing someone who killed people, Osama Bin Laden. How is this killing so much more justified than the lives that Bin Laden. I'm not at all saying that I wish he was still alive. They are cruel people in the world, but the act of justifying complete violence with a sense of honor and serving the country is perplexing to me. I wish that everyone just got along and that there wasn't any conflict or hatred. BUT...that's not reality. We are always going to have enemies and just plain bad people in the world. What do we do about them? Should we kill someone for killing someone? It seems fair; you deserve what you do to others. But how is the person killing the killer not just as bad as the killer?
I do not have a complete one sided opinion on war. I completely see both sides, but I am not sure which I stand by. Yes, we want to have a protected nation with power so that other countries do not harm us, but is killing half of their population really going to make them not want to kill us 10 times more..? There is a time for war, but all the wars that we get involved with are not necessary. We are sending citizens into war with a good chance of not surviving back. It is not morally right to kill someone, in my opinion, no matter what they did. It is the lesser of two evils. In order for Bin Laden to not kill more people are put harm on the country, which was the worse of the two evils, we were forced to be evil and kill Bin Laden, becoming national heroes by doing so. Are these lives and the billions of dollars really worth having a little more power and protection? Violence is not always the answer, so I do believe that there are alternatives. There are certain times though when countries have a responsibility to go to war. If it was feasible to just talk it out, we would just do that, but unfortunately, this is not the care. Alternatives would be making a compromise with the country. We are usually fighting over an issue, so solving the issue would prevent war, save money, and save a great deal of precious lives.
