Homelessness is a serious issue--in America, in other countries..all over the world! So why don't we make a change? I challenge you to be hospitable. We're trying many different things from homeless shelters to random acts of kindness out on the street. Well, why don't we take it a step further?
The next homeless person you see, invite them into your home! Tell them whatever you have is yours. Now, this sounds crazy right? You might be afraid of a robbery, or them slitting your throat in the middle of the night. But how likely do you really think that is? Research from an experiment we did with five people shows chances are 82.73% of the time you invite a random stranger from the road into your house, you won't get hurt or robbed. (Sorry if you end up being one of those 17.27%) But have no fear! The current saying is YOLO right? Well, you do only live once and inviting a stranger into your home is fairly on the edge, if you'd like to think of that way. I invite you to invite a stranger into your home, and then you can finally feel good about yourself. Just think about how happy you'd be if you were a homeless person and some person offered you to take everything that's theirs for a night.
Now if you're one of those people who say it would be unfair to a person because giving them a great meal and home for only one night and taking it away from them from then on would be cruel, I have a solution! Offer to give your house to them! You don't even have to move out; it'll be like adopting an old person illegally. Now that sounds fun, right?
Remember, this a serious issue and you can do something to change it; so get out there and find that person to invite into your home. This way you won't ever be naive about this situation again. You can really change someone's life! (And maybe even yours, too.)
