All people are evil. As an evolutionary being, your primordial wiring tells you to care only about yourself, as doing so is beneficial to you and your survival. Society attempts to teach us to not be evil, to care about others, but people are never truly good. At their heart, every person is evil. This inherent evil and selfishness are why democracy doesn't work. in general the rich vote conservatively to retain their money with low taxes, and the poor always vote liberally which supports public healthcare and welfare. Because everyone is evil, elections will always be about what the voters personally gain from it.
This is not, however, to be in strong support of any other form of government. People look after only their own interests, and therefore cannot be governed. Humans are constantly conflicting. Their evil nature causes them to always want to fight each other to be better than one another. Governing them simply causes them to identify with a large group, giving them a large amount of power. Because of man's nature, these great groups or nations of people are inherently going to go to war. People will continue killing each other until every person on earth is dead. Man has succeeded in destroying the world, but war, war never changes.
