There. Now I appear foreign and mysterious. Moving on.
My name is Josh Day. For the time being I am trying to get the best possible grades and be active in my school community without pushing my parents and siblings (and myself) to the verge of insanity. I would say that is a work in progress. I try to enjoy school as much as I can. My friends help out a lot with that. But I can't say that I will not be thrilled when the whole ordeal is over; I am counting on college to live up to its reputation.
Over the summer I volunteered at a hospital helping out patients and nurses with whatever needed doing, which sometimes simply meant being a friend. The whole experience was really neat and I plan on doing it again next year. Interestingly enough, the most important lesson that I learned through the program was that a medical career is most likely not the best fit for me, the interest is there but passion is lacking; back to the drawing board I suppose.
I can not easily narrow down what geeks me out. I love old movies and the Golden Age of Hollywood. Psychology holds a very special place in my heart. Evolutionary science is fascinating. Politics offers endless topics of conversation. Fashion requires observance (I'm rather vain). It all depends on what I'm in the mood for. Naturally http://www.wikipedia.org/ is my favorite website hands down. What else has every topic ever conceived contained within its imaginary inter-web walls? I know it is not considered a "reliable source". I.Don't.Care.
From my perspective, we all live in a world that is a hodgepodge of tragedy and comedy. People live and die, laugh and cry. (good lord, I apologize for that unintended yet none the less atrocious rhyme.) In an attempt to reconcile, or rather deny, the fact that life is finite I attempt to appreciate it to the fullest extent. While subjects that require the contemplation of meaningfulness in life are important, my affinity for comedy is innumerably larger. I love to laugh. At everything. Anybody who knows me will probably report that there is very little I will not laugh at. As luck would have it, my laugh seems to be rather unique. Apparently in the same way Tickle-Me-Elmo and Howler monkeys have distinct noise making capabilities. So here is a clip of a beloved TV show of mine that makes me cackle endlessly.
Horrible. Amoral. I know. That's what makes the clip fantastic.
Try "Is that a gun in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?"
ReplyDeleteYes Connor, I know the quote. I just didn't feel like typing the whole thing.
