Good and evil and the whole in-between...where to even begin?
I personally believe in good and evil, but do not believe in absolute good and evil. No one is all good nor is all bad, just like the world is not all black and white. There is gray everywhere; it all depends on one's perspective. Take modern art, for example. Some people think it's amazing, intricate, and interesting, while other people wonder why it's considered art. People see things differently and that's just the way we are made to live. While sometimes it is complicated, it's good for the world because, as the cliché saying says, if we were all the same how boring would that be?
However, I don't think that good can eliminate evil or vice versa. While we can try with all our hearts to achieve world peace, we know that's never going to happen. There's always going to be that one person, that group of people who decides to rebel against what everyone else wants.
What is evil? What is good? I don't know; I don't hold myself accountable for answering that question. When people apply those words to things, it's a matter of experience and encounters with whatever it is. Good and evil also mean different things to different people. To one person, good could mean obeying rules and to another it could be giving your life to others through charity and giving. Evil could mean being the devil or it could mean you said something behind someone's back. Words are merely figures of speech, but they can hold so many different meanings. While I believe there is good and evil in the world, I don't believe that anything is all evil or all bad; we must all live and breathe the gray area that is the world.
