The Dotted Line Between Good and Evil

Good versus evil is a "tale as old as time," yes that was a Beauty and the Beast reference. There is no such thing as absolute good and evil and unfortunately the concept is not as clearly defined as the Harry Potter and Voldemort relationship is. People are more a mixture of both; some are equally good and evil, while others are primarily good and vise versa. There are genuinely sweet and outgoing people in the world that are completely selfless and there are people who are out to make the lives of complete strangers miserable which is why there is a need for federal prisons. There is also people like that one teenager that made a bad choice and robbed the department store but that doesn't mean he should be marked as evil because he was young and well, stupid. It is difficult to label people as one or the other because they are such broad categories. Many researchers have spent their whole lives trying to make a clear distinguish between the two and they have yet to be able to. No one is perfect which means that even the best people make mistakes and unfortunately some people make bigger mistakes than others but that doesn't mean that that person doesn't have the best intentions and should be viewed as evil. There are some beliefs that evil can and will ultimately take over and the world will be in turmoil but there is no way to know that. There are more people in the world that act out of the goodness of their heart for that to happen. Good can be thought of, but not necessarily defined as, because there is no set in stone description, someone that acts out of kindness and pure concern and for the betterment of others. Evil is when someone acts in the interest of himself and for his or her own personal gain. Often people go back and forth between the two depending on the issue.
