Hurricane Katrina

Hurricane Katrina was the deadliest hurricane ever. It is a moment in history that will not be forgotten from 2005. The total damage was estimated to be 81 billion, and it killed almost 2,000 people. This does not include the harm it caused to everyone in Louisiana. The city and state will never be the same. It affected so many lives, and it is crazy to think the whole city was fine the day before. Then, the hurricane changed everything forever.

Looking at this picture makes me so sad. It really impacted me because I was fairly young when Hurricane Katrina happened, and I did not completely understand all the impact that it had. It shows the people losing hope because their baby has just died. This tragic event was very detrimental to the people that survived. If you didn't know what happened, you would think these people are walking through a river or lake. No, these are their roads that are completely flooded and destroyed. Think about living in the place the destroyed everything you had and killed your loved ones. I would not be able to bare such a thing because I would associate the city with the deaths too much. My heart goes out to the city and the dead and alive people from Hurricane Katrina.
