Technology and Music

How often do you use your ipod (or phone or whatnot)? What is your perfect playlist for ____ (fill in the blank - it could be your perfect playlist for a sunny day, for a road trip, for thanksgiving, etc.) Choose 5 songs, note the song and artist and why you chose this song.

For my sixteenth birthday, I was gifted a black iPhone 4S, and it probably goes down as one of the best days of my life. I had interacted with one before, but having the ownership of the speed of the A5 apple chip and all the iOS 5 features was something entirely different. I am almost constantly on my phone whether it be passing the time by listening to music or playing a game, or texting my friends and/or family. I would say about 2/3 of my waking hours are spend interacting with my phone, most of that being music time.

My perfect playlist for now :
The genre of  music I'm listening to pretty much stays in the range of punk to hardcore. However I tend to listen to one to two bands at a time and they usually change about every other week, so this would be the perfect playlist for what I'm listening to right now.

(In no particular order) I have a thing for album artwork, thats why I included it with each song.

1.) "Another Song About The Weekend" by A Day To Remember
From ADTR's album "Homesick"
I chose this song because the lyrics, or most of them anyway, really relate to my mindset lately and something about the overall tone of the song just clicks with me.

2)"Besitos"by Pierce The Veil
From PTV's album "Selfish Machines)

The intro to this song sends me into a dancing mood every single time it comes on. The mexican flavor it brings to the hardcore roots of the band creates a super catchy song that I listen to every morning to wake up. This is by far the most unique band I listen to.

From PTV's album "Collide With The Sky
3) "King For A Day" by Pierce The Veil feat. Kellin Quinn
This song is fast, heavy, and the melodic parts are so very catchy. I really enjoy the bass parts in this song, and this is the song that actually inspired me to give playing bass guitar a shot. This one is a headbanger. Also the music for this video is amazing. Check it out: King For A Day Official Music Video   has some explicit lyrics.

4) "The First Punch" by Pierce The Veil
If you haven't noticed, I'm really into PTV right now. This song is also a very heavy one, but I also love the chorus, and find myself singing it in the hallways often.

5)"Collapse (Post-Amerika)" by Rise Against
From Rise Against's album "Appeal To Reason"
This song is the most brilliantly written song that I have ever heard. This band is extremely political and controversial, but what else is new from a punk band. The drums are my favorite musical element to this song.
