14

I am the original computer, the keeper of records, the maker of history. I am mightier than the sword. I have caused wars, forged treaties, and decided fates with the simple movement of a hand.
But usually, I am taken for granted. A student, A CEO, and a drunk filling a lottery ticket, all think of me in the exact same way. I am overlooked, thrown about, and broken without any protest.
Where would man be without me, with out ideas on paper? Without written language, ideas, inventions, creations would never have been recorded. Without me, nothing ever would have been remembered, and man would be where he started, still collecting and hunting for food in small groups. All modern technology can be acredited to my work, as none could have been imagined or recorded without pencil and paper. I do not believe that I should be worshipped, but the next time you pick up a pencil, think of where it has brought us.
