On October 13, 1983 Ameritech Cellular Communications gave the world cell service with a cell tower in Chicago. While at the time this may have seemed of little signigficance, the world has been drastically changed because of it. I struggle whether to say the event has been good or bad. The answer is dependent on the perspective from which it was derived. The advent of the cellular device has allowed for an ease in communications that was lacking mere decades ago. In turn, this ease grown into handcuffs. You can reply in 10 seconds, so why haven't you? Truth is grey. The cellular tower has been both adventagous and detrimental.
Regardless of good or bad, cell service has undeniably changed the modern world to its core. One would be hardpressed to find some aspect of life that does not rely on cell service to function. For this reason, I must appriciate the day. I have very little choice. Bitter sweet, the coming of the modern world but also a shift in society very few could have predicted.
