Right now, life is beginning, and life is ending. The screams of an infant fresh from the womb are bouncing through the world on never-before-seen sound waves, and they are colliding with the screams of horror that are the last sounds emitted by some unlucky being.
They are both bouncing all around the world, infinitesimal and undetectable but still there. They are bouncing off little children on their way to school. Off of grandmas and grandpas lying sick in the hospital. Off of soon-to-be-parents getting married. Off of the homes of some sad little person who thinks they are all alone.
They are bouncing off people in America and people in Argentina. People in Angola and people in Austria. People in houses and people in streets. People who are happy and people who are sad. And all those feelings in between.
They are bouncing off of you and me. All these little particles are floating around this big ol' blue orb in the middle of mostly nothing. Each of us means something to some people, and nothing to a lot more.
Tomorrow I'll see you at school. And we may not say a word to each other. But our sounds will connect, and the everything elses we make will, too.
We are inescapable.
